Freedget
Your data is yours. This policy explains how Freedget handles your information and why we designed it this way.
Last updated: May 16, 2026
Overview
Freedget is developed by Guilherme Fróes under Triuneon. This app was designed with a strong focus on privacy, simplicity and user control.
Unlike many apps, Freedget does not collect or store your personal financial data on external servers. Your information stays within your Apple iCloud account, except for limited anonymous usage analytics and Apple subscription status information described below.
Information We Collect
Freedget does not collect personal data such as name, email, or financial information on external servers.
The app may store the following data locally or in your iCloud:
- Expenses and financial records
- Categories and organization data
- Family sharing information
- App preferences and settings
This data is stored securely using Apple’s CloudKit infrastructure and is associated with your Apple ID.
Anonymous Usage Analytics
Freedget may collect anonymous and aggregated usage analytics to improve the app, reliability, and feature decisions.
These analytics may include weekly counters such as:
- Expenses created count
- Families created or joined count
- Dashboard views
- Widget usage
- Export usage
- Onboarding completion
- Paywall views
- Family+ purchase started or completed events
- App version, build number, platform, major iOS version, country code, and locale
Freedget does not include personal financial data in analytics. Analytics do not include expense amounts, income, merchant names, custom category names, family names, member names, emails, Apple IDs, CloudKit user identifiers, card data, or user-entered content.
Analytics are not used to track you across apps or websites. Freedget does not use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or tracking tools.
You can disable anonymous analytics in the app settings. When disabled, Freedget clears the local anonymous analytics identifier and pending analytics counters.
Anonymous analytics snapshots are retained for up to 24 months.
iCloud & CloudKit
Freedget uses Apple iCloud (CloudKit) to store and sync your data across devices and optionally share it with family members.
Your data is:
- Stored in your personal iCloud account
- Protected by Apple’s security infrastructure
- Accessible only to you and users you explicitly share with
Triuneon does not have access to your private financial data.
Family Sharing
Freedget allows you to share selected data with family members using Apple CloudKit Sharing.
When you share data:
- Only invited users can access shared records
- Access can be revoked at any time
- Shared data remains under your control
Your Control Over Data
You have full control over your data at all times.
- You can delete your data directly within the app
- You can disable iCloud to stop synchronization
- You can remove shared users at any time
Deleting the app or your iCloud data will permanently remove your stored information.
Purchases and Subscriptions
Freedget offers an optional Family+ subscription using Apple’s StoreKit and App Store payment system.
Purchases, billing, refunds, and subscription management are handled by Apple. Freedget may receive subscription status information from Apple, such as product identifier, transaction identifier, expiration date, and revocation status, only to unlock or manage Family+ features.
Freedget does not receive or store your payment card details.
Third-Party Services
Freedget relies on Apple services such as iCloud, CloudKit, StoreKit, App Store subscriptions, and Apple system diagnostics.
Freedget does not use third-party advertising networks, third-party tracking SDKs, or third-party analytics providers.
Security
Your data is protected by Apple’s iCloud security model, including encryption and account-based access controls.
While no system is 100% secure, Freedget follows best practices by minimizing data exposure and avoiding unnecessary data collection.
Children’s Privacy
Freedget does not knowingly collect personal data from children. Since no personal data is collected externally, risks are minimized.
